Americas
In the US, inflation data will take center stage, with markets closely watching for any signs whether tariffs are already driving costs higher. Both the headline and core CPI are expected to have risen by 0.3% month-over-month in February, slowing from 0.5% and 0.4%, respectively, in January. Meanwhile, the PPI is also projected to increase by 0.3%, easing from 0.4% in the previous month, while the core PPI is likely to hold steady at 0.3%. Traders will also monitor the JOLTS job openings report, along with preliminary figures for the Michigan consumer sentiment index. Additionally, key releases to watch include consumer inflation expectations, the NFIB Business Optimism Index, and the Monthly Budget Statement. Elsewhere in the Americas, the Bank of Canada is expected to cut interest rates by 25 basis points following unexpectedly weak Canadian jobs data and as US tariffs went into effect. Meanwhile, other key economic releases include inflation, producer prices, industrial production, and retail sales data for Brazil, inflation figures for Argentina, and industrial production data for Mexico. 

Europe
Industrial production in the Eurozone likely rebounded by 0.8% in January, recovering from a 1.1% decline in December. Similarly, Germany’s industrial output is expected to have risen by 1.5% in January after a 2.4% drop in December. Destatis will also publish Germany’s trade figures, final inflation data, and wholesale prices. Other notable European data releases include Italy’s producer prices and industrial production, Spain’s retail sales, final inflation figures for France and Spain, Norway’s inflation data, Sweden’s household spending, Turkey’s industrial production, and Russia’s inflation and trade balance. The UK is set for a busy week of economic updates. Fresh data is expected to provide insights into the country's economic performance, with GDP likely expanding by just 0.1% in January, slowing from a 0.4% increase in December 2024. Additionally, both manufacturing and industrial production are expected to have contracted again on an annual basis.

Asia and Australia
In China, investors await the conclusion of the Two Sessions conferences for more insights on how the government will finance its wider budget deficit, commodity production controls, and retaliation to US tariffs. Data spotlights will be shared between inflation prints, set to show that both consumer and producer prices deflated, and new credit aggregates, set to show that new yuan loans contracted on an annual basis. Meanwhile, Japan is expected to record its first current account deficit in two years, while household spending is forecasted to contract. In India, the headline inflation rate is due to ease toward the RBI's target mid-point of 4%, while industrial production is priced to have accelerated. Elsewhere in Asia, South Korea, Singapore, and Malaysia will release unemployment rates. In Australia, the focus will be on leading economic indicators with the Westpac Consumer Confidence index and the NAB business confidence index.
