Slovenia Jobless Rate Lowest Since 2008
The unemployment rate in Slovenia decreased to 7.2 percent in September of 2019 from 7.8 percent a year earlier. It was the lowest jobless rate since December of 2008, as the number of unemployed fell by 3,947 to 69,834 while employment rose by 18,860 to 896,754. Considering the first nine months of the year, 51,380 persons were officially registered as newly unemployed, 4.1 percent less than in the same period a year ago. Among the newly unemployed, 29,733 were unemployed due to expiration of the fixed-term employment, 4,884 were seeking for a first job and 7,477 were jobless due to permanent redundancies and bankruptcies. In August, the jobless rate was also 7.4 percent.

Unemployment rate in Slovenia decreased to 7.4 percent in August of 2019 from 8 percent a year earlier, as the number of unemployed fell by 4,376 to 71,544 while employment rose by 20,732 to 893,180. Considering the first eight months of the year, 45,628 persons were officially registered as newly unemployed, 4.6 percent less than in the same period a year ago. Among the newly unemployed, 26,816 were unemployed due to expiration of the fixed-term employment, 3,903 were seeking for a first job and 6,736 were jobless due to permanent redundancies and bankruptcies. In July, the jobless rate was also 7.4 percent.

Unemployment rate in Slovenia decreased to 7.4 percent in July of 2019 from 8 percent a year earlier, as the number of unemployed fell by 4,201 to 71,850 while employment rose by 22,145 to 893,760. Considering the first half of the year, 41,361 persons were officially registered as newly unemployed, 4 percent less than in the same period a year ago. Among the newly unemployed, 24,592 were unemployed due to expiration of the fixed-term employment, 3,556 were seeking for a first job and 5,920 were jobless due to permanent redundancies and bankruptcies. In June, the jobless rate was lower at 7.3 percent.

The number of unemployment in Slovenia decreased to 7.3 percent in June of 2019 from 7.9 percent a year earlier. It was the lowest jobless rate since December of 2008, as the number of unemployed decreased by 1,265 to 70,747 and employment rose by 2,901 to 896,129. Considering the first half of 2019, 35,151 persons were officially registered as newly unemployed, 4 percent less than in the same period a year ago. Among the newly unemployed, 20,771 were unemployed due to expiration of the fixed-term employment, 3,137 were seeking for a first job and 5,067 were jobless due to permanent redundancies and bankruptcies. In May, the jobless rate was higher at 7.4 percent.

The unemployment rate in Slovenia decreased to 7.4 percent in May of 2019 from 8.1 percent a year earlier. It was the lowest jobless rate since December of 2008, as the number of unemployed decreased by 4,693 to 72,012 and employment rose by 23,863 to 896,129. Considering the first five months of the year, 31,021 persons were officially registered as newly unemployed, 2.8 percent less than in the same period a year ago. Among the newly unemployed, 18.541 were unemployed due to expiration of the fixed-term employment, 2,772 were seeking for a first job and 4,447 were jobless due to permanent redundancies and bankruptcies. In April, the jobless rate was higher at 7.6 percent.

The unemployment rate in Slovenia decreased to 7.6 percent in May of 2019 from 8.3 percent a year earlier. It was the lowest jobless rate since December of 2008, as the number of unemployed decreased by 4,590 to 73,965 and employment rose by 23,926 to 893,228. Considering the first four months of the year, 26,506 persons were officially registered as newly unemployed, 1.2 percent less than in the same period a year ago. Among the newly unemployed, 16,100 were unemployed due to expiration of the fixed-term employment, 2,323 were seeking for a first job and 3,770 were jobless due to permanent redundancies and bankruptcies. In April, the jobless rate was higher at 7.9 percent
